ZAMBOANGA CITY, SULU DARUL ISLAM, 5 January 2012 – The Sulu Sultanate Darul Islam [SSDI] extending her first International humanitarian aid to the Sendong victims in Iligan City, Philippines.
This inaugural service to humanity is in line with the policy of SSDI to alleviate those victims of natural calamities regardless of their color, faith and race.
This first step approach is signalling the neighbouring countries that SSDI has starting to build harmonious relationship among its neighbours so as to promote mutual understanding.
The SSDI convoy from Zamboanga City off for Iligan today brought worth 50,000 pesos of clean water, clothes and foods. The convoy is composed of truck and pajero wheel with SSDI small flags put on their both sides.
In Iligan there are also many SSDI constituents victimized by Sendong typhoon, however the small assistant is not only intended for the Muslim but it is for all irrespective of faiths and tribes.
Sulu Sultan Bantilan II is extending his condolences to the victims, saying that:
“In behalf of the Tausug Citizens of Sulu Sultanate Darul Islam, I am extending our heartfelt condolences to the families of victims of such typhoon Sendong that brought misery to the loving and peaceful people of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao. We are praying that everything could be set into a proper place.”
Meanwhile, the Sulu Prime Minister, Datu Habib Sattiya is extending his thanks to the convoy by doing the humanitarian help to Iligan:
"I am here to feel the sadness of our brethren in CDO and Iligan. In behalf of the Sulu Sultan Bantilan II and Tausug Citizens, I am extending my Salam to the people affected by the unexpected catastrophe that hit their homes.”
The NGO from Malaysia Global Peace Mission is also joining the SSDI convoy. This first international program may bring more goodness to the people of SSDI and their relationship with neighbouring countries like Mindanao and the Philippines.
When interviewed, the Executive Minister cum Foreign Affairs Minister, Datu Habib Sakiral Daie is praying to the successful humanitarian aid from Malaysia:
“The SSDI Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is thanking the humanitarian delegate from Malaysia to extend humanitarian help to the Sendong typhoon victims in Iligan. We are praying for the success of this humanitarian help and praying that soon, the victims will get back to their proper place. Insha Allah”
